Pay It Forward, Ties , and Granny Squares

In the beginning of the year I joined a little project called "Pay It Forward". Basically you make something for five people and then they pay it forward and make something for 5 people and so on. With the year over half over I decided to start on mine. The first thing I have made is for my dear friend Ellen. It's a little needle book carry case.

I hope she likes and , and I hope she doesn't mind that I'm blogging about it before giving it to her! I'm so impatient :):):)

I should have practiced my free motion writing a little more before starting. It's a little wonky..... My favorite part it the little owl inside.Ellen loves owls.

Tutorial found HERE.

I've also been working on some little guy ties for friends and the Corn Festival.

And remember my dream crochet blanket?

Well, I started it!

I found a video tutorial on Youtube for the exact style I was looking for.

I decided to only use a few colors because who knows if I'll ever finished and I didn't want to buy 100 different colors yet. I'm very discouraged right now because they are all different sizes. That's going to make for a very wonky blanket. My mom promises to help me figure it all out. One of the reasons I wanted to start this was because I need something to keep me busy while my sewing machine is packed up. Yep, we are moving!!!! And best of all is we are moving back to Ohio!!! I can't wait to be back with family and friends. My poor Demi is getting quite sick of me being her only friend.

  1. HI there! I just found your blog via Tator Tots and Jello and I love it! I am now a new follower. I wanted to add...on TT&J you asked how they adhered the label to the clipboard for the friendship bracelet kits. I believe it was Mod Podged, or atleast that's how I decorate my clipboards. he,he! Hope this helps. And..i love this needle case. I love owls too..so this fabric is adorable!!!!

  2. AAAAaaaahHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I just gasped louder than I think I ever have in my life as I scrolled down my google reader and suddenly saw my name on the first picture! LOVE it. love it, love it, love it, LOVE IT! Perfect in every way. And I had just torn myself away from another Orla Kiely lust fest, so it was so nice to see an adorable stem print that is actually coming my way! haha The front and back were amazing enough, but then the inside! gahh! You are the. best. I have been thinking so much lately that I need to start my 5, this will be just the kick I needed! :D (My mom said to tell you she LOVES it too, I called her in to see, heehee)

Also, I keep meaning to say about the ties, 1. they are so adorable, 2. I have been working on men's neckties and bowties for a friend's wedding, do you think you'll make any adult ones, or should I put a few in just in case someone wants a father/son combo?

Finally, love the colors on your granny squares (?), I know you will be a pro in no time, as you are with everything else!

Can't wait till you're back in the state! <3

  4. Hi there! This is kind of off topic but I need some guidance from an
established blog. Is it hard to set up your own blog?

I'm not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty quick. I'm thinking about making my own but I'm not sure where to start. Do you have any points or suggestions? Many thanks
