Bread Bag for Homemade Bread

My yardsale bread machine was $5 well spent. I found an easy recipe online and miraculously the bread turned out fantastic!!! Though I quickly learned that you can't keep the bread in Tupperware or refrigerator. The best way to store it is in linen. I happened to have 1/4 yard so I made this cute bread bag.

We'll see how long the bread keeps in this. I think you can add ingredients to your bread during baking to prolong the life too.

  1. Hi Krista! I bought my bread machine for 5 bucks at the Thrift store too and I love it! I bake bread twice a week and we just don't buy bread any more. I have 2 of these -

and they work miraculously to keep homemade bread fresh. I've not had any get stale or moldy using these. Also one of the best books I've found for recipes is Quick & Easy bread machine recipes by Norman Garrett. You can find it at Amazon for $3.70. The one I bake every week is the Soft Pumpernickle bread. It's fantastic!
    Your bread bag is darling....I hope I didn't over-share :) Have a great day!

I don't know how I could live without this product. How did people do it back in the day? Did they just tie up the end with a bread tie? I'm so happy this product is clear because I can look and see how much bread I have left and whether I need to get a new loaf. I didn't realize this product came with a neat design. It looks as though it's cracked in one corner. I think it gives it a modern look, but all my friends think that it got damaged when it was shipped. A fun thing to do when I'm bored is to toot into it when its empty and close the vent. That way when my wife wants to use it, she opens it to find a nice surprise. It just never gets old. I would recommend this to anyone who purchases bread or just simply enjoys containing their own butt burps.
