Colorbrick, check!

I finished my colorbrick quilt from the tutorial at Stitched in Color.

This tutorial is amazing for anyone starting their first quilt. There is no detail left out. I was thinking about trying to sell this one, but there are too many "first" involved for me to part with it :) It was my first time free motion quilting (which is a bear, and I can't imagine doing a larger quilt like this on my machine), but the look is so pretty...and it's the first time I had stitched the binding on.

Also makes it look so pretty. I have a hard time with hand stitching though. I never know how to get going and how to end it. Oh well, I will learn!!!!

I also made a camera strap using this tutorial....mostly.

I saw one of these make on flickr but can't seem to find it again. Anyway, that really pretty strap is now attached to my really awesome new camera!!!! I can't even believe that it is mine after all these years of pinning for one. My husband rocks!!! It was my birthday/Christmas present and I couldn't be more excited about it. He asked me if I wanted to start taking pictures for other people and I said "maybe, if I ever get good enough". His reply was "Krista, you mean WHEN you get good enough" How sweet is he? He thinks I can do anything and that's why I am so lucky. I have the most positive, supportive husband.

In other news....we had a rough week health wise. I think pretty much every family can say that right now. Hopefully we are on the upswing of this battle. But in the meantime, I will relish these moments of loving on mommy time.

EDIT: if anyone has any tips on how to make my pictures look better I would love to hear them. Not sure what I am doing wrong but I really don't like the way they are looking. And I'm very new to blogging

I have a Brother 6000 and I think it's perfect! It was on major sale at amazon. It has a walking foot, free motion foot, quilting arm...totally worth $150.
Any my new camera is a Canon Rebel XS. I am having a blast with it and hope to learn a lot. Congrats on your new camera too :)
